ACO to sponsor Urban Infrastructure seminars at futurebuild 2019

For the second year running, the Urban Infrastructure seminar programmes will be sponsored by ACO at Futurebuild 2019. The seminars will focus on effectively planning, building, and landscaping urban redevelopment areas, and will be held at the event’s Urban Infrastructure Hub theatre, across the 5th – 7th March.

Here, visitors will have the opportunity to explore and discuss some of the pressing challenges urban infrastructure projects face, and think about ways these can be tackled in the future.

ACO Water Management, in collaboration with RIBA Journal, will also be hosting ‘A future for our town centres’ seminar on the complex challenges that town centre design poses to developers. The session will discuss the opportunities for redesign, in addition to offering those attending the chance to pose questions to a panel of experts on the ways that town centres can contribute to sustainability and improve public health. This session complements the ACO x RIBA Journal Future Cities Competition which offers architects the opportunity to share their vision for the regeneration opportunities in Dover, Tredegar and Tonypandy.

In recent years, ACO has provided its water management solutions for a number of town centre regeneration projects, such as Buckshaw Village, Oxford Railway Station and Corby’s Market Walk shopping centre.

Gary Morton, Head of Client Engagement, commented: “Our town centres now have to compete with out-of-town, destination-style shopping and entertainment quarters, which is having a huge impact on them. With the inevitable evolution of town centres, and how we use them, it is vital that we create engaging discussions to create innovative ways to design thee spaces.

“We’re looking forward to hosting the ‘A future for our town centres’ seminar, and hope that it will provide useful insight from industry leaders into future regeneration solutions.”

ACO is a world leader in the design, development and implementation of sustainable water management systems. Its full range of application-specific drainage products and services provides architects, specifiers and engineers with a complete package of integrated systems, suitable for use across the entire spectrum of civil engineering projects.
